Part of the essence and pleasure of angling lies in ones desire to become immersed in nature and there we find a sense of freedom and solace – which detaches us from the stresses and rigors of daily life.
Enjoy the dulcet tones of ‘Chris Yates’ – once described as the Dalai Lama of angling literature, as he brings to life passages from one of his many books. His son Will provides the perfect musical accompaniment. Originally commissioned by BBC Radio 3’s ‘Night Tracks’ programme, as a live performance for the ‘After Dark’ festival held at Sage, Gateshead (now The Glasshouse) – March 2022.
The music was written to accompany readings from Chris Yates’ book ‘Night walk’, along with diary extracts and some field recordings taken whilst out on a night walk.
Whilst not an angling book per se, these extracts and sound recordings will no doubt resonate with anglers who fish at night.
