Boddington Classic Qualifier 3
Sunday 30th May 2021
A chilly and foggy start to the day turned into a glorious scorcher which bought the carp to the top en masse and for a change they were hungry. Only 2 sections failed to impress and strangely it was the normally favoured high numbers but everywhere else carp were caught in abundance.
Glen Maxwell wasn’t too impressed with his draw on peg 14 on the dam wall but after 2 early fish on his pellet waggler his mood lightened considerably and went on to net 22 carp by the end of the match for an easy victory with 104.050Kg. The Sailing club bank produced well with 2 anglers from there finishing in the top 6. John Whelan, on his first visit to the venue, took 11 carp from peg 2 from this bank and gave him 2nd place with 62.080Kg. Third place went to Stuart Palser, who got off to a flier on peg 77 after taking 8 carp in the first 2 hours. After 5 hours he still had 8 carp but they were big enough for him to finish a close 3rd with 61.000Kg.
It was a brilliant day by recent Boddington standards with virtually all the carp caught taken on pellet waggler with several 20lb plus caught.
